Film Critic
Dwight Brown is a film critic for the National Newspaper Publishers Association (a syndication of 200 black newspapers with a readership of up to 15,000,000) and for the NNPA website BlackPressUSA.com. His reviews have appeared in the Hollywood Reporter, Emerge, Essence and Details. A longtime member of the prestigious New York Film Critics Circle, he is a past chairman who championed its New Director category.
Dwight Brown regularly attends film festivals and markets (Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, Tribeca, American Film Market) as a critic, judge, panelist or consultant. He has appeared as a guest critic on The Tavis Smiley Show, Channel 4's 50 Films to See before You Die and the Town Hall Film Seminar Series. |
